When I started writing this blog about a year-and-half ago, I worried that people might take my words to be representative of the company I was working for at the time. This fear has prevented me from publishing many of my ideas; I have a catalogue of half-written posts lost in a swirl of ‘Untitled’ Google docs.
To set the record straight: I write for myself. I write whatever I want, inspired by whatever random notion passes between my ears. This has very little to do with the company I work for, or what I’m currently in the midst of working on.
That being said, I do feel a sense of responsibility — past, present, future — to ensure I don’t say anything that might be misinterpreted or might be used against me in the future. But that’s not a driving force in what I say and write.
I am telling you this now because I’m starting a new role at a company tomorrow, and want to avoid anyone thinking that I’m going to share confidential stuff here. Obviously not.
But it’s likely that I won’t be writing for a while, since I plan to throw myself into this new venture. Wheeeeeeeeeee….! Talk to you in a few months. ✌
